Privacy Policy

1. 100% Local Processing
FileFlot processes all files entirely in your browser. Your documents, images, videos, and audio files are never uploaded to our servers. This means we never see, store, or have access to the content you process. Conversions happen on your own device, using your local CPU.
2. Data We Collect
We collect only the data strictly necessary to provide and secure the service:
- Account data — when you purchase a FileFlot Pro license, we store your email address and a license key. Payment details are handled exclusively by Stripe (our payment processor) and are never stored or transmitted to our own servers.
- Anonymous usage analytics — to understand usage and improve the product, we collect non-identifying metadata: a randomly generated visitor identifier (stored in your browser), coarse country/city derived from your IP address (the raw IP is never stored), device type, browser type, and referring page. This data cannot be used to directly identify you and is not tied to your account or files.
We do not collect any file content, browsing history, or personal information beyond what is described above.
3. Cookies & Local Storage
We use a single HTTP-only session cookie to keep you logged in with your license key. It is required for the service to function and is never used for advertising. In addition, we store an anonymous visitor identifier in your browser's local storage solely for aggregate analytics purposes. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies are used.
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on a limited set of third-party processors, each bound by their own privacy and data processing agreements:
- Stripe — processes all payments.
- Neon — provides the PostgreSQL database where account and analytics data is stored.
- Vercel — hosts the application and its serverless functions.
- ipapi.co — resolves IP addresses to coarse country/city for aggregate analytics; the IP itself is not retained by us.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third party.
5. Your Rights (GDPR & applicable laws)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with data protection laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where applicable. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@fileflot.com. We process account data on the legal basis of contractual necessity and legitimate interest for non-identifying analytics.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your email and license key for as long as your lifetime license is active. Because files are processed locally and never uploaded, there is no file data to delete on our servers. You may request deletion of your account data at any time; please note that deleting your account will remove your license access.
7. Contact
For any privacy question, request, or complaint, contact us at hello@fileflot.com. FileFlot is a product of Bitflot Technologies Inc - Canada.
